Register and obtain social security number share
Since early 2018, the government merged all social security schemes into just two schemes; Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF) and the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). The PSSSF is for workers in public sector and NSSF for those in private sector. Investors or business owners are advised to register their companies and their employees with NSSF. The National Social Security Fund Act No. 28 of 1997 provides for registration of both employers and employees. All employers are required to register with the Fund immediately after setting up companies. Registration is completed by filling Form NSSF/R1A which is available at any NSSF office throughout Tanzania.
